The Beginning 2
Shalom Aleichem,
we meet again to begin our journey. Maybe some ask, "Where do we begin our journey?" The answer is from each of our places, where we are in life, that is where we begin. However, if we are to have a good journey, we must begin with general and known points. It is good that we also understand the nature of this journey. It is certainly not a physical journey, for example, you go from Jakarta to Surabaya, not like that. This is a spiritual and inner journey, where we explore our own mind and walk to the same one direction, that is God.
What do we have in common? We are human, we have activities. That activity may be working, school, or other things. And that is where our similarities end, as our nation might not even be the same. English is the lingua franca of the world after all. In fact if I say we are human, that too is just an assumption, perhaps there are astral beings or other spirits who observe the writing of this writing and also do the same inner journey. However, what is certain is that we are all the creation of God, for God does not need these writings, so I direct it to us who He creates.
There are many inner journeys that we can do, but this time I want to emphasize on a knowing journey, for to reach God some of the necessary things is to know and to understand God. So we shall learn how to explore our minds to reach new knowledge. Now, let us begin with being aware of our life, our activities, our minds, and all of our experiences. Now leave all of it, and empty yourself. For while there is still belief, it will be difficult to do this inner journey.
Inner emptying means we return to the beginning, but it does not mean we lose all of our progress that we have attained to this point. It simply means we temporarily empty all things so our mind is cleansed and we may accept a new reality. For we can accept God only if we are pure and clean wholly. For God transcends all knowledge and ideas of Him. Therefore, in its time you too will see that this journey will collapse on its own, and there you will see God. However, do not worry, what is emptied shall return to you in due time. It is simply that it is better for us to empty ourselves.
What if we cannot empty ourselves? My friend, it is not problem. You can still do this journey, it is just that it will be more difficult and the chances of you leaving is higher. For when I later deliver new truths, and that contradicts your certainties, you will be conflict. Depending on yourself, you can resolve the conflict well or you will be "destroyed" and leave because of your conflict. Now my friend, if you are certain with your own truths, it is a question for me, why are you here? This journey is better for those who are still seeking and wishes to be helped.
In the journey to God, there are many tools that we can use, and in this case we will be using a tool called "philosophy". Actually, my writings would most likely be categorized as "theology" in the eyes of many, but that is simply a problem of names, the essence of the two is none other and no difference from the other. My friend, have you ever heard of philosophy and theology? If yes, very well, and if not, it is not a problem. For any understanding you have about those two things shall be changed and be added with something new. However let us stop here for now. In the next writing we shall orient ourselves on philosophy and theology, and from there we are ready to begin our journey.
